You are overqalified, beyond middle age, and have a history of high salaries. When you submit your CV, you fear rejection by the employer based on those facts. However, being unemployed for too long and desperately in need of a job, you are willing to go for less or much less in terms of salary as well as job title. Should you mention in your cover letter that you are willing to go for less to avoid having your CV rejected? How do you handle that? Is it right to go for less or do so? What is your opinion?
Compromising and taking job in haste leads to job dis-satisfaction, under performance and ultimately disqualification.
If one is fully satisfied with the offered job role then it's worth taking the challenge.
Being upright and leaving upto selectors to decide if it's worth for the job role is more preferable by me.
Employers are interested in employees who really want to work.
I usually say: for a good job in a good company, I am ready to make concessions and take steps back and I am sure upon my performance, I will find a way climb up again in a healthy company.
To get job on less salary or less position than you deserves based on education and experience means you sale yourself at low cost because of your need. It means you lack in analysing your need thats why cicumstances control you. I suggest manage yourself till getting proper job and find alternate resource while sale yourself or get opportunity which you deserve. Meaning that Be wise, And Find job of your choice, in that satisfication you will perform well and grow well/
I think that there is no need of mention salary on cover letter because it is not a good impression.
If company is interested and you have relevant experience, They will call me for interview or inform about the salary they can pay.
I have to apply with full confidence with any fear of rejection.
I am always ready to get a chance, which can come any time.
I think every one MUST belive , for me i belive in God and every one have his / her own belives in order to know for sure tommorrow is another day and we all pass by Hard times before Good times but we must face that head by being always (( Optimistic )) as you still breath up by sequence you have the chance to work and changer your status for the best and even worth you didn't make at least you took the steps to achive that come ture.
Agree with Mr Ibrahim.
Hi All,
I have gone through the different perspective of people and i would like to mention i personally now gone through such scenario in quest of an oppurtunity to build up my career. I am not much qualified however i had got17+ years of experience from the scratch of the front office, HR , Sales Adminisration . Now the current market says that i am over qualified with the experience and do not get the managerial position because of not holdinga MBA.
Sometimes, the hardwork and willingness of taking up the task to perform and become a leader in career does not help. We definitely need the education by certificate atleast for covering up ourself which is truly unfair.
For the question suggested, my opinion would be not to giveup, because once started it is always expected by the employer (some) to work for the lesser pay irrespective of the performance.
Rather waiting for a year to make the employer realise the hardwork & performance i would suggest to take time and find the better one to sustian in the market.
Thanks all.
