Yes....
Most of the Companies prefer Mechanical engineer as drilling Engineer if a person have a bit of experience in Drilling.
In my opinion Petroleum Engineer will be best for drilling as compared to Mechanical, this is because the Petroleum Engineer knows what is Happening inside the well ,he knows about well logging and Geology and Srtatigraphy of the well.
