I Recommend Reward and recognition is one of the motivational technique.
I treat all employees equally and with respect regardless of their job role.
I recomend that to encourage the employees on their work and guide them and train them how to complete their tasks. Give Rewards/ Bonus to employees on their good work. Motivate the employees so that they will able to produce the good quality work.
I believe the best way to motivate employees is to empower them , make them feel important in the project. Give them freedom to perform and appreciate their good initiative openly.
I think have team management skill is must in Manager and one thing I have done during my career is try to promote Open door policy and No Bossing concept at work place, Make people self motivator and learner that usually helps having a better team because people Gel in rather than individuals.
As a manager, rather than giving directions, what I do is leave the solution open ended. Provide the task, problem, and issue, and ask the team to discuss and come up with the best possible method to tackle the issue with a:
1) Quick solution
2) Lasting solution
3) Solution simple and straight-forward to communicate to the stakeholders
The team usually take this on board as a challenge, which if accepted has its own merit and reward.
