Lets see. Many research & development is in the direction of Cloud Technology. If not in immediate future, it must happen.

CATIA have similar developments. Solidworks is also working out a verymuch similar way with the support of CATIA R & D team.

basically have workstation on cloud computing is not a good concept as per security..but if you have a private cloud which is deidcated to your organisation then we can go head...

Servers might be replaced by Cloud Services available. Like EC2. 

But we always needs desktop, Laptop to access those hosted on the Private / Public Cloud.
