In my opinion, premature babiea are more prone to infections because they have under developed immune system to fight against infection, as well as undeveloped  various vital organs.

In my own opinion, sepsis occurs more in preterm babies because their immune system is not well developed. They are prone to infection if the health care workers doesn't religiously practice hand hygiene before and after patient contact.
