Why did you choose to be a teacher?

I have always wanted a career where I'm giving back to society. To work with children & to experience the challenges & benefits of teaching first hand

Although an ex military instructor, I am not a teacher. However even at this late part of my life it is something I would really like to do, part of my present occupation involves mentoring youngsters diagnosed with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) with associated learning disabilities. It is a job which I very much enjoy and would modestly suggest that I am reasonably good at! I would dearly like the opportunity to move on a stage into full blown teaching especially English as a Foreign Language. The beauty about TEFL is that there are so many "side" benefits which all cater for my interest in different cultures, countries and peoples. What could be better? Doing something that you have a passion for whilst being able to indulge in those things which you are interested in?
