One good model is the AIDA system
A for attention : try to pay your customer attention to your product or service ( price , service , quality , so on )
2- I for interest : he would show an interest for your product by the core values you explore , implement and communicate to him
3- D for desire : as the interest should be translated to desire to get your product or service
4- A for action | at the end an complete selling process must be completed
First and foremost the manner of approach to a client is frankly important. Holding your head up high, greeting a customer with a warm smile might give the customer the idea that he or she is welcomed and that you are confident enough to offer him or her the best service. Introducing yourself first by mentioning your name and position in that company and then requesting that client to introduce himself or herself as well. Politely ask the client what service she or he would like the company to offer him. Briefly explain the product, its pros and cons but in mind bearing the fact that as you give advice to the client ensure that you convince him or her to be interested in purchasing or buying in, ensure that the client is satisfied with the merchandise and always mantain contact with your clients .
You may try to use Voice of the customer (VOC) approach, The “voice of the customer” is a process used to capture the requirements/feedback from the customer (internal or external) to provide the customers with the best in class service/product quality. This process is all about being proactive and constantly innovative to capture the changing requirements of the customers with time.
The voice of the customer can be captured in a variety of ways: Direct discussion or interviews, surveys, focus groups, customer specifications, observation, warranty data, field reports, complaint logs, etc.

I think as a marketer when you have to convince someone, marketer should know about two things: First-7Ps of his product or service which benefit to understand the structure of the product and give the other side a comprehensive overview about the service.Second - marketer should know every thing about SWOT which differentiation our product from the competition product by comparing the benefit and strength with the weakness and threats so the other side will know the best reason push him to buy your product, and be sure100% to see him the benefit and strength of you product to gain a positive approach of him, not focusing on the weakness of the competition product which let him to try it just to know why you are fighting the specific product...
