When you are writing a novel, do you sometimes feel that you are one of the characters?

It is very difficultt for a novelist to completely dissocciate her/himself from the characters. LLOne way or the other, thee no novelist may end up transferring some of her/his characteristics to a character he creates. Being a novelist is different from being a joirnalist. A journalist - ideally - completely dissociates her/himself from a report while a novelist is not supposed to do that.
