What is the definition of a computer ?
The term "computer" can be defined as an electronic digital machine hose designed for automatic processing of data which are presented in an encrypted format. Translated from Latin, the word "compurere" means the activity consisting in considering or calculating. In practice, the computer is a set of electronic devices that can be grouped into functional blocks. In accordance with the defined architecture computers from J. von Neumann [2,9,19, 20,24,28], can be distinguished: • input devices that are used to input data to a computer for processing and programs; • output devices by means of which are derived from the computer results (information) processing; • RAM for storing data and programs that process the data; • Processor (CPU) that performs arithmetic and logical operations on data retrieved from memory and controls (synchronizes) and controls the operation of all components. Processor and RAM is a computer's central processing unit. In contrast, input and output devices are external devices, in the which also include other devices working with a computer, among other things: external memory (data storage and programs), keyboard, printers, plotters, monitors, measuring devices, and This pro - device control industrial machinery. The last group of devices that are essential to the functioning of the computer is the device transmission (exchange) data between devices and the external and my CPU. These devices are called channels. The main advantages of current computers, resulting, inter alia, of their construction, are: • automatic decision-making, in accordance with the content of the program; • Large memory capacity, which allows you to store multiple programs simultaneously and large data sets; • high speed operations performed; • high operational reliability. Nowadays, computers are used in all fields of science, technology and the economy. They are used in the calculation scientific and engineering are used as auxiliaries when designing structures and processes, and process control.
it's programmable machine and it work by these steps:
input
process
output
A computer generally means a programmable machine. The two principal characteristics of a computer are: it responds to a specific set of instructions in a well-defined manner and it can execute a prerecorded list of instructions (a program).
I think it is difficult to give a complete definition for computer but I will try:
Computer is a logic machine which have a memory and brain (CPU) and can do arithmetic and logic operations using the integration of software and hardware
Computer is an electronic device which takes data as input, process it and after processing it gives desired output.
Main diffirence between a calculating machine and computer is that comptuer process information while calculating machines only works on data.
lets start defining "computer" from the basic things.,
Any device which reduces human effort is a Machine (ex:calculator, phone ,computer etc)
lets start defining from the view of illiterate people(or by the way computer looks)
Computer is a type of machine on which people type something(INPUT),happens some INTERNALOPERATIONS(stores, manipulates, logical operations etc) and get something(digitalized output) on screen very fast(processor)
1.INPUT:any device by which data can be given ex:keyboard, mouse
2.OUTPUT:any device from which desired data is displayed ex:printer, monitor
3.INTERNAL OPERATIONS: it stores the input(memory),does operations(arithematic and logical operations which are programmed inside the chip)
to perform above three we need a power source(battery or current)
A Computer is an electronic machine, operating under the control of instructions (Software), stored in its own memory unit, that can accept data, manipulate data (Process) and produce information (output) from the processing.
But generally, the term is often used to describe a collection of devices working together as sytem.
Thanks for inviting
The term "computer" was originally given to humans who performed numerical calculations using mechanical calculators such as the abacus and slide rule. The term was later given to a mechanical device as they began replacing the human computers. Today's computers are electronic devices that accept data (input), process that data, produces output, and then store (storage) the results.
-OR-
A computer is a device that accepts information (in the form of digitalized data) and manipulates it for some result based on a program or sequence of instructions on how the data is to be processed. Complex computers also include the means for storing data (including the program, which is also a form of data) for some necessary duration. A program may be invariable and built into the computer (and called logic circuitry as it is on microprocessors) or different programs may be provided to the computer (loaded into its storage and then started by an administrator or user). Today's computers have both kinds of programming.
It is a machine that is loaded with commands that facilitate work for a lot of people, such as statisticians, engineers, document controllers...and the list goes on.
There are many examples of computer commands, such as searching for a record at a timely manner, fast arithematics...etc.
We computer experts can inspect and fix problems that arise from computers because we know the anatomy of computers.
