Managing stakeholder expectations may be difficult because stakeholders often have very different perspectives and objectives that may come into conflict. In general, differences between or among stakeholders should be resolved in favor of the customer. However, this does NOT mean that the needs of stakeholders should be disregarded. Instead, a project manager should identify the stakeholders and assess their needs as early as possible in the project

A/ Regarding the conflict between the Sponser and the Senior VP it should be solved in favour of the Sponser as he is the big boss.

B/ Regarding the stakeholders and Customer, the customer is always considered as the main stakeholder and his satisfaction is one of the main goals of the project.

I usually advise to avoid internal politics as much as possible and stick to the technicalities of the subject. Hence, I would say it is the customer best interest that should be taken into consideration. However, I really do NOT see why there should be such a conflict between the project sponsor, the senior VP and the customer in genral !! Is it total mess out there ??

First , I dont know why a conflict would happen internally, Managment weekness .

from my point of view , Any conflicts should be solved to the favor of the customer.

without neglegting the rights of the Stockholders .

First, there are ground rules and project governance to handle and control the project.

Second, any confilict resolution should be solved in favor of project work as win-win solution

I think it should not be so difficult!

The customer in the first place!
