The art of management involves creating the conditions that are most conducive to motivating individuals. People ultimately react in a motivated way based on their own internal needs, aspirations, and self-images. Effective managers are able to tap into those internal processes through the relationships they build with subordinates and the way they shape the work environment.
Team spirit can be brought in by building team trust and team interdependency. Allow enough space for putting across his/her ideas and involve in idea valdation for reasons to understand for opting the best one. Involve and get involved in valuing others ideas / suggestions.
BEST TECHNIQUE IS DO BE SIMPLE & APPLY MAN MANGEMENT,,,,,,,,,,,, GOOD DAY
Motivation is the force that converts intention into action. In a work setting, it’s the drive that helps maintain goal-directed performance.
Without a team spirit, organizations can suffer. Building team spirit is about engaging the emotions of the team members. It is more than a cerebral idea that a team is more than the sum of its parts; it is truly feeling that you are a part of something worthwhile, and that everyone is working together to make a success of things.
For the employee who lost or lacks team spirit but is hardworking and punctual just need proper guidance. Need to motivate this employee to realize the importance of teamwork, and ask him to think beyond his own individual assignments.. It is not difficult to get these people be a team player.
Whereas, a problem employee keep creates problems for you if you don't become strict with him. Such employees take for granted the soft managers and behave stubborn...It is important to make him realize what are your expectations from him, and give him warnings when he deviates. After several warnings, if he keeps doing the same then work with HR to get rid of him, but, you need to collect enough evidences beforehand (BTW, you should already develop a backup if the person is a key team member)..
Identify the reason for his lack of team spirit will be the starting point. First give him an opportunty of being heard. Provide him counselling and mentoring to make him aware of the importance of team spirit.Provide him training if required.
Good Day!!!
It is a deciplinary issue that cant be addressed with motivation. Counselling can him a bit and can bring him back to the team work. May be you can make him head of a few team-work assignments.
It is a problem of attitude, no one can change other's attitude without willingness of the person himself.
Firstly select the causes of the problem and ways of solution
Employee involvement in the development of training courses
Learn from the "we" is better than "I"
Employee involvement in social activities
Spoke to him as a friend and not as an employee
Manager is a Coach and Mentor and for him/her best place and time to understand and tame such employee is OJT time that is On the Job Training Time when you have one to one interaction with an employee and give him/her ample time to give vent to his/her feelings and the reasons for being idiosyncratic Once you patiently hear him/her and strike wave length with such an employee you will be able to manage hi/her.
Involve him in more team assignements and give him task for which he need to get assistance from others or give assistance to others. Remind him/ her continously of the importance of team-work. Show him that his good performance is still incomplete due to lack of team spirit.
