side lying for flexiona dn extension
supine for abduction and adduction
gravity eliminated positions and no resistance. for flexion and extension, sidelying on the unaffected side or opposite tested side. For abduction of shoulder, supine position. for internal and external rotation, arms at the side.
For shoulder flexors( anterior deltoid and biceps) and extensors (post deltoid and triceps) patient side lies on the contralateral side .
For abduction (Mid deltoid and supraspinatus) and adduction (pectorals) patient lies in supine.
for middle fibers of deltoid in supinelying
for anterior fibers of deltoid in prone lying
for posterior fibers of deltoid in sidelying
IN SUPINE LYING FOR THE MIDDLE FIBERS OF DELTOID
IN PRONE LYING FOR THE ANTERIOR FIBERS OF DELTOID & TRICEPS
AND SIDE LYING FOR THE POSTERIOR FIBERS OF DELTOID
Eliminate gravity by placing the patient in side-lying for flexion and extension and supine for abduction and adduction.
