What would be the most stabilizing surfactants suggested which can prevent re-coagulation of silver and gold nanoparticles?

Since the main challenge encountered in the nanoparticle generation is their tendency to agglomerate, choosing the proper surfactant is the key for their stability in many media. Silver and gold are the most characterized elements by the great transformation in their optical properties when converted into nano-scale.

Being a Materials Engineer I synthesized Magnetite Nano particles for the application of Ferro Fluid. The main problem was agglomeration and I used TetraMethylAmmonium Hydroxide as best stabilizing surfactant that completely stop agglomeration of Nano particles(size6 to10 nm). We can also use Oelic, Lauric, Palmic and Steric acids.
