surveys can be filled is random places, u can give away coopons for each person who fill your survey people will become more interactive also.

I would not see it's competetior to any existing mediums, for sure it's a key enabler and to reach customer's. Yes it is one of the medium but not a complete replacement. Helps to a great extent in making the customer decide the brand or retail destination, prior to visiting the actual location. It is one of the best ways to interact but is not the best way. Social media has the greatest reach at the least cost because it allows you to interact with customers, channelling the exact information they are interested in but feedback is never guaranteed unlike in face-to-face exchanges where feedback is instant.

Certainly social media is the best way to promote and provide customer service with marketing, but it does not apply to all business categories, as we know there are different segments where we think our target market would be but not necessarily all of our target market will be on social media, even if they are there on social media they may use the social media platforms for leisure and/or connecting purposes.

 

 

 

Therefore, Social media should not be considered as the only medium of online marketing for any company. The results are sometimes non quantifiable and it works mostly on 'Brand awareness' rather then direct selling.

Aside from having the choice of getting it free (which will require a lot of work if you dont want to pay for ads) or have the option of placing an Ad in facebook, Google Adwords, and other major social media sites for getting clicks and traffic on your website. It mainly depends on your service and product on how you can effectively use social media as a marketing strategy, some would prefer clicks, some for exposure, some for membership persuation, and some for offers and promotions.
