There is a general belief that these departments are often underfunded, using junior folks, and are too focused on qualification of prospects, rather than cultivation of prospects.

AGREED WITH TWO SMART MARKETING PROFESSIONALS,,,,,,,,,,MR.PATEL & NASIR HUSSIAN
Pre-sales can be an effective way of getting something built that you might not have the capital for, but I think people often don’t consider the costs. There are lot of people jumping to the pre-sale model without weighing the pros and cons.
Pre sales are harder than ever before with most of the major territories adopting a wait and see approach. Buyers have to be as sure as they can and that means take out as much of the execution dependent risk as possible.
Good Day!!!
YES its a general behaviour but to my opinion its a50:50 ratio......... certain organizations give due importance to all the heads under marketing. FOR ME:
Pre-sales Department has a vital role in the sales process in most companies offering highly customized, technical, or expensive products or services. Pre-sales departments contribute significantly to the success of any business.
I Believe that most managers feel that the importance of pre sales strategies and staff are good only in the introductory stage,I believe they are important in all stages As they hold great experience about the product and the market and they could act as guides through out the entire process.
we should never undermine any department and it's contribution as all departments combine their efforts to contribute to the success of the whole organization.
