The search engine has so much information and is making it so easy for us to obtain it, that it discourages traditional avenues of learning such as studying, doing one’s own field work, and taking classes, going to libraries, and not all information in the internet are reliable. Are search engines making us lazier and less efficient?

False, in my humble opinion. Search engines allow us to to access and accumulate a lot more information in a lot less time than it was possible earlier. In this sense, they enable us to be more efficient.
They aren't a replacement for libraries, classes and field work though. Rather, search engines are best used as complements to those resources and activities.
Search engines are simply tools - they can't make us dumber, less efficient or lazier so long as we make conscious choices to employ them properly.

Hi Mike,
Good afternoon. I am sorry, but I am not agree with your statement. In my opinion, it is depend on the person to person. Since, even search engines make your task easy but still you have to be careful about the information. You have to use your presence of mind a lot. So, it is not easy as it seem in fact it helps you to think more to do prudent search. Also, In today's world it is very useful for online research papers and book which will save time and space. It doesn't make you lazier and less efficient.
I am agree with you, Few Year ago when there is less technologies we rememeber most of this thing. Now we put reminders, if we wanna search someting we take help of search engions. Capcity of mind going day by day weaker and we are become dumb.
