Office politics exist in every workplace especially marketing and sales or HR department, how you tackle?

1. Yes, stay away from it.

2. Focus on your work and performance,

3. Get busy in certifications and training.

4. Refer only to the official communication channels and seek answers in official manner. 

5. Encourage the story tellers to follow proper communications and verify facts rather than blind acceptance and actions

1. Understand your organisation structure & powers of influence
2. Understand the underlying formal & informal relationships
3. Keep a keen eye on harmless supportive competition & malignant undermining one
4. Don't loose your voice. Be heard without becoming too noisy
5. Respect the chain of command without jeopardising self-dignity (people respect dignified people!)
6. Control your emotional reactions
7. Be socially intelligent in your communication; adjust to your "audience"
8. Build natural & nurture alliances without being too slimy or shady
9. Abide by company policy and become an unmistakeable example
10. Document your actions, suggestions and communication

1. Address the politics issue openly when appropriate

yes sir,,,, HUMAN BEING IS A SOCIAL ANIMAL SO HE IS  ALWAYS  INTERESTED IN POLITICS,,,,, IT IS FAMILY POLITICS ,, OFFICE POLITICS AND SOME TIME COUNTRY POLITICS ,,,,,,,,,,,, SO IT IS NATURAL,,, EVEN IT IS SEEN IN THE MOST PROFESSIONAL COMPANIES,,,,,, ==========    TAKE IT AS NORMAL ROUTINE WORK,,, DO NOT GET PAINIC ,,,,,, KEEP CALM AND DO MAN MANAGEMENT ,,, DEAL THE NEGATIVE ELEMENTS AND WATCH THE GROUPS MAKING TROUBLE,,,,, DO NOT BE A PART OF ANY GROUP ..... SHOW THEM YOU ARE NEUTRAL, , , 

Favoritism, Power tripping, and Bullying are all part of Office Politics. Mostly rooted from discrimination, different preferences, past arguments, conflicts of interest, and affairs. To avoid these, proper exercise of company policies should be followed. The management should address all concerns raised by their people seriously and there must be an independent entity in the organization that manages conflicts and complaints. It is common nature that humans will feel jealousy, envy, hatred, and all other things in the office, so it is best if the policies are being implemented strictly, systematically, and is equal to all people in the company, even the top management. If I will act as an individual, and I feel that I am being a victim of office politics from my manager or a co-employee, I will raise it to the proper person concerned, if I am in conflict with a higher manager, then I will directly raise the concern to the top management. If conflict management are to be handled by a person or an independent body that is in the middle and doesn't take sides, then politics will most likely be eradicated in the office. Doing nothing and staying out of it is a safe thing to do, maybe because people have the FEAR that it will affect their job security, but there are two ways to handle FEAR. Face Everything And Rise, or Forget Everything And Run, so for me, I'd rather fight for what is right.

Yes office politics exists in every company you can imagine.

To keep up with this challenge always keep in mind;

• where are you there to provide service against which you are being paid for
• Keep a positive attitude all the time
• keep it professional
• base everything on facts
• Avoid gossips
• if you have any concern, address it professionally
• be alert and pay attention to who is behind ready to stab

Remain impartial to opinions as regards to Professional Requirements, and firm to  all personal decisions. Politics are good only to a certain extend it seems.  In politics : Agree to Disagree policy is evident, as far as my personal experience is concerned...take it or leave  it... thank you
