Do you think working women are hurting or benefiting the economy and the job market?

I do not see any damage from the working woman, and I think she too role contribution of in advancing the development and her instrumental in the economy.

 

What an interesting question! Women in the workforce was more of a necessity than a luxury.
I think that is still the case today, although for different reasons.
When women entered the workforce in large numbers it was almost100 years ago, during World War1 and the economy was desperate for labor.
With most of the population on the battlefront, it was necessary to populate the vacant factory, medical, and office positions with women.
A century later, most of us are in the workforce because cost of living is higher than what the average income can cover, and most households need dual incomes.
That said, many single women who are working, relieve some financial burden off their parents by being more financially independent.
It all adds to more disposable income which benefits the economy.
To the job market, one of the biggest challenges for governments is creating jobs.
There are always more available job-seekers than available jobs.
And that is an unemployment issue.
Unemployment goes hand in hand with education (or lack of it actually).
These issues are studied well, and when we look statistically, it goes without say that globally, the richest and most peaceful countries have the lowest unemployment rates, the highest graduate population, and an equal gender workforce (Denmark, Sweden, Germany).
So if we wanted to live in a similar society, then I suppose the answer to your question is that women benefit both the job market and the economy.

Working women are as professional as men and are benefiting the organisations and economy as well , Most of the MNC do believe in diversity in employees Women are performing excellent in the departments like Administration, HR, operations, customer relationship, Corporate Sales , Business development, Teachers, Counselling, Corporate/HR consultants, interior decorators, Architectures in most of the public & private organisations

Definitely women in the workforce are benefiting the economy and the job market, it just happen that before, women were treated differently but with the changing world and globalization of almost everything, things have change which gave every individual (men &women) equal opportunity to practice , to express and to compete in the present age.
The advantage is majority in the society becomes productive resulting in a better economy of a country.

Each individual having knowledge, skill set and experience irrespective of the gender is valuable to make her or his meaningful contribution towards the development of the HUMAN society through various ways.
It could also be through their roles in the job market and economy.

I've seen lots of very competent women working also in senior positions within international corporations.
I know it depends a lot on the culture and country we are talking about, but yes, those ladies I have seen working full-time are definitely an asset to the entire society.
The prerequisite is of course proper schooling.
Having said that, in many countries the publicly available child-care has gone to an extreme: Small kids are packed into a car very early in the morning when they still should be sleeping, just in order to bring them to a nursery school so that their mother can go to work and reach the office at8 AM.
And the same thing in the opposite direction in the afternoon.
I'm not so sure if this really makes sense.
When the children are small, they should have the chance to stay at home with their relatives (mother, grandmother, etc.).
Later on there will be the time to go to school and that could be the moment for the mother to return back to work (not so easy these days, when looking at the situation of the job market in many countries).
If we are talking about a country where even a middle-class family can afford to have a full time nurse at their home, the situation changes.
It's an easier decision for the mother to start working instead of staying at home.
Still a personal decision, where there is no right or wrong answer.

what i believe is women not hurting the economy but for sure family is getting hurt becoz of working women.  If it is going good for otherthen muslim religion but when we count the muslim community not only kids are suffering becoz of womens but also mens also getting hurted.  Marital relations are effecting also kids are not getting moral support from both the member of the family.  Just for luxury life women are working and killing the market salaries and job opportunities of mens
