You can screen the recieved resumes from recruiting agency to match against the JD you provided the agency. If the resumes are matching against the JD, then it means agency is trying their best to find suitable candidates. If you find inconsistencies with JD and resumes you receive, then you should notify the recruiting agency and look for an alternative agent..
I think the agencies try their best to find right candidates, they know it better, otherwise you will end contract with them..
Simply interview one of the candidates they send..
The relation between company and recruitment agency is like the relation between the patient and the doctor. If the patient failed to deliver the exact nature of pains, the doctor will fail too to diagnose the disease and then give the right medicine.
If the company did not give a full profile for its needs the agency for sure will fail to get the right candidates and this is what happens in most cases of recruitment.
Apart from the basic requirements the applicant can be put to test on the field for a said time eg1,2 or3months called probation depending on the company /organisation to avoid sentimental recruitment to the detriment of the company.
who ever and what so ever nomination may be we have to do our own part of selecting right candidate and there should be an agreement that you will pay to your agency for selected candidates only not for just nomination, and of course you are paying them for right candidates not for just nomination...
