My computer short down at an interval of 5 minutes, please can any body provide me with the solution to this problem?

What do u mean by short-down? or u mean shutdown first of all you have to check one bye one from power supply to motherboards, hard disk drive, ram memory, and your cooling system also your operating system.
and you will find out whats the problem.

By reading through your question I guess what you mean is shutting down the computer.
If that is the case, you need to recheck all your hardware parts and power supply for correct installation and performance.
If the problem still remains, you computer system might be infected with a specific shutdown virus.
Choose a well known anti-virus software.
Then update to the latest release and deep scan through your whole system.
This should pretty much cover your problem.

The computer can shut down from various reasons. I have  a few probing questions. Is the computer showing the blue screen of death or a black screen after5 minutes? Is there a grinding noise coming out of the computer? Is it a laptop or a desk top computer that you are talking about.

The issue could be overheating. In that case it could be a fan issue. Take the vacuum cleaner near the fan vent and suck any dirt out. If that does  not help  shut down the computer and press the power on button after taking out the battery (if it is a laptop) and disconnecting the power chord. This step is called power drain and dissolves any static electricity.

If you can you can try reseating the hard drive. That would resolve any loose connection problem.

These steps should resolve any minor problem .
