When a bussiness is trying to connect to the customer online it would certainly be blogs. You find many such blogs in Linked in , twitter and facebook. The public response to these blogs helps the co to judge the popularity of a product in the market.
For example the blog about a car would have comments about its fuel consumption, HP, quality of build and most importantly after sales CUSTOMER SERVICE. This is how customer service is of utmost importance. Any dissatisfied customer can vent his anger by writing some bad comments on the blogs. Hence the effort to reign in the DETRACTORS BY THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT.
In my opinion, blogs are powerful online marketing resources.
