MAC Stands for mean  aerodynamics chord. Its the average chord length   of a tapered wing . its specifically used in tapered wing for aerodynamic  performance and stability equation . In a straight wing  the mean aerodynamic chord and actual chord remains the same whereas in the tapered wing it value is not identical
