The Pareto Principle should normally be that20 percent of the stock should generate80 percent of the monthly or yearly sale volume. From this you can easily analyse and sort out the remaining80 percent of the stock which takes storage space and higher inventory cost.
The rule can be applied to various methods and areas as you see fit.
