There are many books available in today's market to learn AIX but the best bet would be 'Redbooks' which are standard book from IBM for AIX

Yes, while Redbook is one of them if you are a beginner I suggest you get yourself enrolled in IBM's classes.
Every year they provide free courses for AN10 and AN12, which the most basic and fundamental of AIX studies.
Check if they have Iverson in Qatar.
I got my free courses with classes back in Malaysia when the government were giving away free UNIX courses.
I would also recommend you post this question on www.unix.com where you will be better answers from experts in the field
