It will be depending upon type of products. For example if the product is perishable, it can be sold to banquets hall or restaurants at a price lower than retail price. By this way, the product can be utilized before expiry and company will not be losing the entire amount of money.

It all depend on the nature of the products but the common trend is to empty stocks by way of discount. At a strategic level and if the company is engaged in corporate social responsibility then it could be given to associations, charities or any relevant cause. The amount of capital earned will surpass the cost of disposing of the product, measurable on brand KPIs.

This would depends if the product is let just say, consumers basic commodity. With this, we can utilize the product by disposing it on a lower price than the regular price before ending up with a maximum discounts or having a buy one get one for free. By this, the company can still benefit by not losing a big amount of capital.
