I would answer yes to this question due to the following reasons.
1. CV in Bayt.com is the professional identity / profile of the employee
It is necessary to have a track on your achievements and progress to display what you have done so far by keeping your CV current. It would motivate yourself to do more and would tell others the professional development of the individual.
2. Help to attract potential employers and better career prospects
An outdated CV in Bayt.com would have lesser chances to attract better career prospects than a very active one.
3.Yes of course the employer expects total commitment but at the same time every employee has the right to do more, achieve more and seek better career prospects. But a job search of employee shouldn't affect his commitments with the current employer and duties.
My answer will be YES because it is not a last job his or her career. It does not hampers the organization reputation because talents are the asset for the organization and it carries the brand image of the organization.
From my point of view, to promote yourself is the Art of Management itself and an opportunity that must be seized to hone your marketing skills which will reflect on your business decisions and strengthen your confidence in what you can achieve.
Regarding the total commitment it is a two way road, your employer should ensure that you are treated as an assets with a proper wages and reward your achievement to keep you motivated.
