It all depends on the person and his post at the company, keeping personal friendships with employees that you manage or lead has a negative effect, while keeping personal friendships with professional ranking and higher would be somehow beneficial.

I think it's not an issue of what you like or not. Personal affairs within an organization always makes trouble. During building your experience you will find out! Professional affairs, moves in a specific frame. Personal usually don't. Last but not least, mind that professional affairs are formal and personal informal. The two sides of the same coin, which if you turn you change the whole picture.

PS: Avoid any personal affair, especially in Europe. Definitely problem creation.

it depends on the person and the type of friendship not to exceed the limits and boundaries of the scope of work, because any failure in any friendship issue can be translated into work unconsciously

I believe in a virtual briefcase system. In my opinion, personal and professional life should be separated and balanced. Any issues related to the personal life should be kept in a "virtual briefcase" before stepping into the office and vice versa. Besides, by separating the personal and professional life, you can balance things properly without any unwanted interference of others.

keeping professional relation with the colleagues within the company is the best way to get maximum from the colleagues . That being said , I was working in my fathers own company in which we showed no relation within the company because if we had any personal relation during work I would  not have done my works well . Having personal relations will bring inequality among the employees

A professional relationship can be also a personal one if the characters and personalities of two persons are compatible and can be evolved into friendship.
