A theory that defines the relationship between ITSCM and ITIL management framework

Continuity management is the process by which plans are put in place and managed to ensure that IT Services can recover and continue should a serious incident occur. It is not just about reactive measures, but also about proactive measures - reducing the risk of a disaster in the first instance.
Continuity management is so important that many organizations will not do business with IT service providers if contingency planning is not practiced within the service provider’s organization.
How do we achieve business continuity ? By implementing.
1 ITIL-aligned IT Service Continuity Management policies, processes and procedures
2 Dedicated IT Service Continuity Management Process Owner
3 Alignment of IT service recovery plans with Vital Business Functions
4 Actions to ensure Operational Level Agreements and Underpinning Contracts with IT suppliers will support recovery services
5 Periodic testing and audits of IT service continuity plans
6 Communications for IT service recovery needs and requirements across the IT organization
7 Staff awareness and education on IT service continuity actions to be taken in the event of a major business disruption
ITIL will be the apt mechanism for IT Service continuity.
What is IT Service Continuity?
IT Service Continuity is a subset of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and encompasses IT disaster recovery planning and wider IT resilience planning. It also incorporates those elements of IT infrastructure and services which relate to communications such as (voice)telephony and data communications.
It is a systematic process to prevent, predict and manage Information and Communications Technology (ICT) disruption and incidents which have the potential to disrupt ICT services and should result in a more resilient IT service capability aligned to wider organisational requirements.
How ITIL will do the IT Service Continuity?
All the process summarising above point. Example -Service level availability is the best mechanism. If we need to ensure any of the SLA, need back plan to maintaning the redundancy plan.
