Absolutely no. All the softwares and tools are just a medium to enhance our skills. The real skill is in you, your brain is the tool and your mind is the tool and canvas. With your aesthetic skills you can develop each and every design. All the tools and software's helps to get the job done faster and enhances it a lot. And finally there is no need to know each and every tool to become a good designer. But each tool has a different use and place to apply according to the idea in your mind. So for that its better to explore those tools you need.

Photoshop is a tool for Graphic Designer. Its better try to learn every tool, options and techniques.

But it doesn't mean that the knowledge of every tool and option meaning the best designer.

It's a commonly asked question...As many have suggested you'd ought to treat apps as a tool in your hand but do not be in amazement of mastering it.

 

The best tool anyone has is their "Eyes, ears and Brain" we use that for researching new ideas.  Much like a situation of survival only difference is it less painful than clients Deadline hanging on top of you :) - Word of wisdom.

the field you are  working in it you have to know all it's tools and options
