There are of course certain operational advantages and disadvantages. There is nothing wrong in doing multitasking. But too much of multitasking activities will reduce our concentration and we are in hurry to finish the job soon and missed some thing due to our activity.

The strain depends upon the nature of work, but if you practice the same in a systematic manner, in my opinion, it will only improve the efficiency. Capacity of the brain far beyond our imagination and we are using our brain only less than  10% of its real capacity. Other stresses or external factors may dampen the sentiment to work multi -tasking.

If we have a effective time management, and arrange our tasks, give each one its weight, cancel no-value ones.

Multitasking without aligning it with individuals' available potentials would be unproductive and would for sure hamper the expected productivity in line with the individuals' available potentials for lack of time and energy.

Yes, I do. The person who is passionate in his expertise will work with mental peace because he knows his subject.

Other work areas may be luring to him but will not be able to execute as his own interest of work.

i think this should be viewed according to the situations. In my opinion it is not that the person should or shouldn't be multitasking man, but the issue is could s/he?? Not all people could do this, but I suppose that we all know people who could do it perfectly without any performance dificits. Business world today could not just depend on only-one-task-people, I think most of our organizations needs those multitasking heros at least in some stages or in some projects

Agreed with Mr Krishna.

It depends on the type of tasks you have to perform parallel. Overload of work will be an issue, otherwise there is no problem in performing multi-tasks.

Well it may be possible that it effects your brain negatively. Because you are under a lot of pressure; your seniors are continuously asking for assigned task, your brain is working furiously on say audit report and financial analysis.

Both require concentration, which is being prompted by persistent calls from your senior and juniors alike, there is a possibility that persons brain get damaged. But, if done on regular basis. As for performance. Well, it is true particularly where tasks are of utmost importance and results of both are to be submitted on same day.
