Everything that you do that reduces your influence on people will lead to your failure as a leader. The top characteristics:

- Lack of integrity. If as a leader you cannot stand by your values and principles, and your actions do not match your talk or what you stand for, then you loose your people's trust.

- Not loving your people. If you don't love the people you lead, you are not worth leading them. And people will know it.

- Self-Centered. Your role as leader is to serve your people and Organization. When you focus more on your needs and self success and self image, you are destined to fail as a leader.

- Being pessimistic. If you are pessimistic, you are not giving people hope for the future. People will abandon your ship, because they know they will drawn and their is not hope. You can only lead people by taking them to where they have not been before, by being optimistic about the future.
