How could the Field Inst.&DCS could affect on the unit reliability of steam turbines?

inst .and control is a one specialty in the elect.power plant and industry.

You could not separate them .DCS depending on the field input data.

So for rigid control system and to get hi availability, redundancy is essential in I&C design and application.

Yes in the design issue you need to consider the redundancy for control and protection from the primary element up to the control v/v.

to answer your query; i might need a critical scenario which you might have faced if any if you can share where i can explain how it plays a vital role and how far it can impact. so that your all ambiguity can be cleared.

however just to precise your question is whether field instrument and DCS required the redundancy or not while designing the PP? is that your question?
