Unity of command refers to the principle that a subordinate should have one and only one superior to whom he or she is directly responsible. That means, on a hierarchic tree, there should be only one in the absolute command.

 

Chain of command is the line of authority and responsibility along which orders are passed within a military unit and between different units. 

 

Span of Management is the number of subordinates that a manger can efficiently manage. Number of subordinate directly reporting to a manager is known as span.

 

Centralization is the process by which the activities of an organisation, particularly those regarding planning and decision-making, become concentrated within a particular location and/or group or keeping all of the important decision making powers within head office or the center of the organisation.
