Sir I think it applied science or an art. U use scientific tools like the phone and the computer and u need to have a CRM software like clarify or astro (sap based tool) or sales force(care force) but the human touch has to be there. Customers even in advanced countries like the US dislike automated systems and long for a human voice even if it has a foreign accent.
Customer Service is Practice I believe,
customer service is an attitude, like You never get a second chance to make a good first impression. When someone contacts your company for the first time – whether via telephone, Internet, or in person – remember just how important that first impression can be.
so i believe it is a day to day practice and make it style for long run.
