They should be available all the time. This means keep a constant communication with the teacher(s) of their child(ren). This is so to avoid the child(ren) having or taking advantage of any laxity either way of the divide. In simple, parents have to take an active role in the education of their child(ren).

I am sad to say that many parents these days rely too heavily on schools to do what they themselves should be doing, they are negating their responsibilities as parents and increasingly expect schools to do much of what years ago would have been expected of them; Indeed in some cases schools are purely a respite for parents who are more concerned with their own careers and making money!!

There is as much variety of parents and expectations as there are schools. Some parents appreciate the efforts of school and others always remain busy in making complains. Sometimes these complains are unbelievable. For instance a school faced litigation by a family despite their six children were enjoying free quality education in that school.

Anyhow, a general trend of the expectations is that parents want their children to be transformed into an earning machine when come out of the school.

It's genuine to some extent because education is going costlier day by day.

Schools expect from parents to pay more and keep involved in the process of learning of their children. Both are general demands and are justified. Standard needs funds. Actually, education is a car having four wheels; teacher, parent, resources and student. Everyone has to play their role to keep this car moving.

very good question Ismi..My dear friend Mostly parents expects too much from schools and expectations always kills.. but I thought parents has much responsibility  more than teachers..specially in Islam mothers are liable for the education of their children..contrary to this parents are paying higher fees thats why they expect a lot from schools this might be one reason..

parents are expecting that schools will transform their kids into super human race without any input from their side which is ridiculous.schools as they are sometimes called are second home for a child & family is the first school .

a child learns the most from home, parents, siblings, peers & environment .Schooling definitely plays a crucial part in the socialization of a child but home is anyway his first step towards civilization.
