By many ways like discussions, presentations, observation, parents involvement and others as good manners don't only concern just one subject or one teacher but the all the society figures.Good manners are taught by simulation ,not just lectures and verbal or oral instructions.I think community service learning can also play a role as students mix with other real people among them who can readjust their behaviour indirectly.

After your question I'm going to realize that this is the topic I like most. Before teaching manners rather even talking about manners it is imperative to follow the manners.

1- I as a teacher, try my best to practice good manners.

2- I never miss an opportunity to provide a guideline to my students; young or old, directly or indirectly.

3- This practice provides good results. Most of them start realizing that this is nothing unusual and having good manners add a lot to our image in public.

I couldn't teach manners, I just give feedback, directions in form  discussions and sharing casually with my students about good attitudes and manners because in this case my students are teenage who they usually appreciate in sharing manners rather than direction formally. Helping them aware by themselves to be in good manners is better than constrain them, so that they could realize and understand its value.

Actually it's hard to teach the students ( secondary level) how to behave and act a  correct and good manner in the classroom or whichever they may go to mingle.  It supposedly be taught at the very stage of learning process in the family and school through  visual aids, stories of the heroes and GOD, and the accepted social standard of etiquette and discipline on dealing people. Teacher may control students to behave in certain limits but not fully inculcate the whole meaning of GMRC ( good manner and right conduct)  within as part of their lives.  Re roots the background ,experienced of the students a means of the teacher to teach effective  GMRC. It is a matter of touching the inner life of the student their experienced outside of the school; family and their surrounding, So  while  there try to look what kind of people influencing them and connect it  to the behavior of the students and  come up a solution  to start the battle.  Think what kind of approach usable to let the  student absorb assimilate the GMRC in their daily routine, Teacher may conduct one on one dialogue to get the trust of the student and stand as second mother  or classroom dialogue if can handle using the real issue that needs to be change for the better life in the future. In this approach its very important  to get the trust of the students and confidence  and so  the teacher must have a great figure  to encourage the student to follow and believe. It can also helps to show social issues, causes and effects  through slides or  TV viewing and make an activity like group sharing post a question and let them answer based on what they saw on  TV viewing or slides. From their answers make a striking conclusion to their heart and mind and let them react through writing  In this way student can express well what is in their mind and heart. And through the entire process make feel the students the important of respect and self discipline  and sharing. And the immersion activity  to less fortunate children will help them see the reality and understand why they should behave, discipline themselves, and must have a good manner.
