What is the Safety Standard that most of Oil Companies in the Middle East follows ? OSHA, British Standard or something else?

<p>I noted many employers in the Middle east requesting OSHA or IOSH or NEBOSH certifications for the vacancies they have , so I wonder what is Occupational Health and Safety Standards most of the companies follow in the Middle east region ??</p>

The followed standard in MENA region is British Standard

If you will be able to get a copy of the safety standards of a big oil and gas company in the middle east, BS and OSHA are listed in their references. USA developed OSHA using BS as reference.

I would assume they work to British standards , most companies in the ME are lax on Safety , they should establish and make their own standards using all OSHA guidelines due to the diverse nature of the companies in the ME
