It could go out of hands if not everyone is clear about their roles in the meetings and who has the final say. Also, in order to avoid a lengthy meeting everyone needs to keep it short. All in all, if there no mutual understanding it could be a disaster.

In a perfect world, you'd have plenty of time to get everything done.

But things come up at the last minute, and sometimes you need to call a meeting on the fly.

Ad hoc meetings or also unplanned meetings are becoming more and more common in the workplace, and if they're approached in the right way, they can be much more productive than those organized meetings you had weeks to plan.

Some trigger event; Urgent customer needs, Workshop incident, Customer visit, ........
