The most sensible question that I rarely hear from candidates during the interview is around their training and development. If you are switched-on and in it for the long run, you should ask the interviewer about what provisions they make to ensure that you will remain up-to-date. The answers you should be looking for would include a mix of training, annual budget for books, subscriptions to video training library, mentoring programs, time off to attend user groups, encouragement to present your learnings internally, etc

2. To be considered a success in this role, what would the successful candidate need to achieve in the first six months?
3. How will my leadership responsibilities and performance be measured?
4. How do you measure performance and how often is it reviewed?
5. Is this a new position? How long has this position existed?
6. What are the traits and skills of people who are the most successful within the organization?
7. Can you describe the organization's management style?
8. What's the make-up of the team as far as experience?
9. Why do you enjoy working for this organization?
10. Could you explain your organizational structure?
