Most disciplinary deviations happen for2 reasons.
1. lack of training
2. lack of understanding of the task and the big picture effect.
In either case the First disciplinary step should be to show the unwanted outcome that has come out of the deviation and emphasize on the need for correctness in work.
The second step would be to train and explain the effect of the job role.
The third step would be observation of the action to see if the same deviation from procedure occurs.
If yes, then negative action has to be taken so as to get the point through.
If no, then a positive gesture should be made so as to motivate the employee to follow the action
