Thanks for giving me the privilege to response to this marketing perspective question.
I truly believe that before a Product Release & as per the marketing perspective, the most important phase is the market research that needs to be well in practice before proceeding to these phases.
Have a look at some of the points that I think the best way to look in to these aspects and to do well before product release:
a) USP (Unique Selling Point) let suppose if the entrepreneur is going to soon launch some B2B portal, he/she really needs to do some very deep creative market research to make their product as per USP point. This will be the first journey towards their product success.
b) Focusing continuously for the Product Improvement Areas.
c) Customer is always right, but if you have almost the right strategies and working on the Customer Centricity then really don't need to be worry for the product failure and keep focusing on the customer feedback and to work according to that.
d) Last but not the least, DON'T SELL ICE IN THE HIMALAYAS
1. After product release, the company should be ready for the fast growth.
2. To see to that the product does not fall short of the claims
3. To prepare a substantial consumer education as a new product category needs it.
