For successful career you need practice or conceptual skills?

Definitely we need to learn the skills first before we practice to become an expert. We need the basic know-how before we can actually apply it. This is the purpose of education and learning, to know the correct skills or judgements or procedures to make sure that we are prudent and competent enough to start practicing our profession.

PRACTICE WILL BE THE RIGHT ANSWER............. SKILLS OR CONCEPTS HAVE SOME PORTION BUT ULTIMATELY EXPERIENCE WINS .............. GOOD DAY

Undoubtedly, dedicated professional career practice has more weight-age for a successful career; which is actually based on your personal skills and knowledge you acquired through years of experience, training and continuous professional education.

 

Both are complementing each other. 

For a successful career, you should have a solid foundation on knowledge and skills before you practice. That is why we go through tainings and seminars after our college degree. Along the way you will gain more skill that will benefit you in your work and as a person. Yes, practice makes perfect but for me, application based on my knowledge and education makes perfect practice and will result to a clearer,faster positive result.

Dedicated practice has got more weight-age. 

In my point of view both are vary important, and to have a successful career you need conceptual skills with a sound practice of these skills. As Mr. Padmakumar Pathiyil said Great Exposure & Experience is most Important for a successful career.Agree with All answers.

In my opinion, practice and conceptual skills both are important for successful career. 

People who are able to see the key elements in any situation can see the enterprise as a whole, see the relationship between the various parts, understand their dependence on each other, and recognize that changes in one part will influence the others.

Competency is the ability of an individual to perform a job properly. It is also an combination of knowledge, skills, and behaviours used to improve performance, ability, role, management, emotional intelligence and negotiation.

Concepts are foundation upon which the building of any career stands.

Practice has its own significance but if foundations are weak then building won't be long-standing.

For a Successful career , you need the basic knowledge , when you make use of that knowledge it becomes practice. After practicing those skills , a little more tactical or creative approach is required , so using conceptual skills you will not only use the combination of the knowledge and practice you ll be creative in your approach and will try to have a better use of the skills which you have required.
