Every country has its own regulations for practicing nursing, Similarly, in Abu Dhabi their HAAD is responsible for regulating the practice of nursing in the country.
This is to ensure that legitimate and licensed nurses are eligible to practice their field which our guided by the HAAD policy and regulation of HAAD directorate, as such is important to established competency standard in the nursing profession.

This is a very broad question which could have many different answers. In general though, the scope of practise permissible is less than than in many other countries. There is many reasons for this.

 

Your professional scope under a HAAD license will vary according to your qualifications and subsequent classification of license, additional training and qualifications, the hospital or organisation you work for and the department within that organisation.

 

There is specific units within Abu Dhabi with established training courses and credentialling processes which allow far greater scopes than other units / organisations.

 

This is no diferrent to professional scopes of practice within developed countries where they also vary considerably on these basis.

The Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD) is responsible for regulating the practice of nursing in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
A system of licensing and examination has been established to ensure nurses are safe to practice within the guidelines set by the HAAD Policy and Regulation Directorate.
A Scope of Practice describes the roles and responsibilities of Licensed Nurses and provides a framework for establishing competency standards which determine specific outcomes to be demonstrated by a professional nurse in practice.
