Hi i believed that the main difference between Exchange2003 & Exchange2010 is of course it is more advance and lot of new features but the main is you can install2010 in the new server separate (stand alone) not unlike server2003 that you can install in only1 server together with your active directory. We migrate to2010 because if we have problem in our Exchange and we need to reboot it, there is impact to our users because all of them are logged-in in active directory.
2010 BECAUSE IT'S NEWER
Exchange server2003 is not a mature server than2010. In2010 you can configure upto25 mailbox but in2003 you can create only5 mailbox
advanced inbox search in2003 (Outlook only) and in2010 (Outlook,Owa)
