A back drop manhole is used in areas where the surface level sloping.
If the undergroung sewer pipe is to stay below ground it must follow the average gradient of the slope. This invariably means that the pipe gradient becomes too steep, resultingin the solids being left stranded in the pipe therefore causing a blockage.
To overcome this problem the back drop manhole was developed.
Hello,
We cal call slowdown manhole as pressure breaking chamber / manhole where the pumped (with the help of mechanical pumps) drainage waste water from basement sump pumps, swimming pool back wash pumps, etc., is connected.
The basic idea of the slowdown manhole is to reduce the pressure on drainage system before its connected to gravitational flow drainage system.
Thanks.
Manholes can be provided for OSU,CSU line or for Electrical line juction points where they need to put some control devices safely for falitates operations.
A "slowdown manhole" typically refers to a type of physical traffic calming measure designed to reduce vehicle speeds in residential areas or other places where speed control is necessary. It's a raised structure on the road, similar to a speed bump but usually lower in height and longer in length.
The purpose of a slowdown manhole is to encourage drivers to slow down gradually as they approach it, rather than abruptly as with a traditional speed bump. This can help improve safety by reducing the likelihood of sudden stops or vehicle damage.
You might apply slowdown manholes in areas where speeding is a concern but you also want to maintain a smoother flow of traffic. Residential neighborhoods, school zones, or areas with pedestrian activity are common locations for these devices. They're particularly useful in places where traditional speed bumps might be too disruptive to traffic flow or where emergency vehicles need to maintain momentum.
