I learnt CAD for professional reasons-but soon started to appreciate it's versatility-and started using it alongwith softwares like Photoshop for my personal craft/design hobby projects/ tailoring etc. as well.

Definitely it is an advantage for Engineers...

For me it was necessary because, now a days Hand made drawings are not using.

and also i can prepare more accurate drawings  by using these advanced  technologies.

I wanted to know how products are designed, and tested beforehand they come to manufacturing as i also wanted to work in R&D or design. For me, in the begining it felt like necessity then interest rised up and passion came along. Now since, i have learned the basics, i want to use it to get a job and later in that perticular job. I learned AutoCAD from a recognised institute CADD CENTRE, CATIA along with my b.tech(ME) course and SOLIDWORKS from youtube so i have no certification in solidworks, till now.
