If the existing market has the capacity to generate double volume of sales, than you dont need to access new market........... Just focus on the area and increase sales generating resources:
Increase present customer base......... Add new customers.
Increase promotional support .......... Attract existing & new customers.
Increase Field sales team.......... For additional coverage.
Increase working capacity and working standards of Field force.
Strong marketing strategy coupled with inclusion of more target market and area can lead to attaining desired goals

That sales target seems to be not SMART !
Even if you accepted this challenge you need strong resources to deploy your strong business plan.
That needs analysis of market, planning, ways of achievement target. After all, you are tageting moon, but reach stars

Analyze how did you achieve the goals of2014, plan advanced strategy with your team to archive twice as much and ask for more resources if needed.
Not strategy , It’s about policy….
Will follow the same policy through I achieved previous targets…..…doesn’t matter to me.
Strong marketing strategy to make it easier for the sales team to achieve the target. Plus a strong sales plan that goes along with the marketing plan. Plus remarkable customers service and after sales services to make the sales team job easier.
