"Sell yourself" is by marketing the product and by satisfying the customer to purchase a product.
Selling a Product: Is concerned with sales
Selling yourself: Is a marketing strategy nad requires good customer Interaction and communication skill. It's also important to understand the mindset of the buyer. For eg: Studying a product and then marketing it in such a way which satisfies the customer not only to purchase the product but also make repaeated purchases. This way he becomes an asset to the company.
Know yourself and your calibre . Do not promise things you can not provide . Imagine yourself as a brand . Be aware of what makes you "unique" and défine very well your target audience . Choose companies which can evaluate thé "total you " . Never forget that your personal quality , your style , your attitude , your real value , your gestures and your image are extrêmely important while selling "yourself" as a brand . Be the best in your respective specialization and express yourself with confidence and clarity in order to sell yourself in a proper way .
Well, fact is that you can't sell anything without to sell yourself. The point is that any costumer/buyer see you at first and everything else she/he will see through you and the way you communicate, react, present...! That means, and I agree with A. Asli Tunca, you have to know your skills and be aware of yourself. Even the knowledge about the product you try to sell gives you confidence but, your personality, confidence, appearance and behavior wake up the trust of the costumer/buyer. And of course, you have to be sure of the value of the product which gives you the necessary confidence.
Selling yourself is simply marketing your skills and who you are, to both your clients or your organization. Selling out is trading in what makes you unique, like your standards or mission statement for an immediate dollar or advantage.
BOTH REQUIRE SKILLS TO DO EFFECTIVELY ................. AGREED BY ALL
Same thing. Be yourself, honest, professional, knowledgeable and talk from your heart.
Is a marketing strategy nad requires good customer Interaction and communication skill. It's also important to understand the mindset of the buyer.
the biggest differenceis that products are transactional in nature whereas services is an ongoing engagement.
I sell myself by being myself.
The difference that whatever you do as a sales professional, you will never believe in a product more than you believe in yourself. That should give you more confidence to sell yourself than sell any product in the world.
Skills should be the same.
Sell yourself: Want to utilize knowledge, skills and abilities by getting job.
Product sell: Satisfy customer needs by selling goods and services.
Thank you all for answering. In my opinion, both are similar and you highlight the strong features of both in trying to sell them.
