I personally don't agree with "Every thing comes to him who waits" , rather I believe in the combination of two things, i.e. Efforts and Luck. You continue your efforts by working hard towards  achieving your targets. When you succeeds, it means luck is with you, if not succeeds, luck is not with you this time. Here you can wait for luck to knock your door. But if you do nothing, and just wait for things to come by luck, here you are deceiving yourself.
