Remember your first working day is your first working day. You will have many more days.
- There will be lots of new information to take in and this can quite daunting and tiring but it will get better.
- You will eventually know you way around your work area and how to use equipment just like everyone else.
- Most people will want you to succeed in your job.
- If you have questions ask, ask, ask. It will save you a lot of headache and confusion in the future.
- Also remember that you will not be first new starter and you won't be the last, so the company will be used to dealing with any questions you may have. Sometimes there is someone you can ask or who is assigned to you as a new starter.
- Don't be too hard on yourself. See no obstacles only new challenges which will be overcome.
I think the biggest obstacle anyone could face in their first day in a new job would be the fact that they aren't really used to the new work place or environment which includes the working staff as well and their attitudes. So the best thing to do is to give the place a visit or two during the preparation phase that way you might catch a general idea of the atmosphere.....
